California experimental instrumentalists Strawberry Girls have decided to tease us with a song from their upcoming album, Tasmanian Glow.
Sometimes described as math rock or post-hardcore, Strawberry Girls will have you hooked on their unique blend of groovy fun and technical proficiency. Their past albums have showcased an insane amount of diversity, probably due to their varied influences. They take elements from bouncy electronica, experimental prog-rock, highly precise math rock, and end up falling somewhere in between. Some of their songs even include soulful vocals that sound like they belong in R&B. Strawberry Girls know no limitations; they can be spacey and ambient, upbeat and dance-ready, or highly technical, sometimes all in one song.
The line up is a strictly instrumental trio, but they have paired with guest vocalists to complete their tracks in the past including Nic Newsham, Kathleen Delano, B Rolla, Joey Lancaster, and Sarah Glass.
“Lovetrip” is a purely instrumental track, psychedelic with a progressive edge. It’s infectiously groovy and somehow both fantastically spacey, and upbeat and dance-worthy. Listen below.
Tasmania Glow is out on October 18 via Tragic Hero Records and can be ordered here!
